Timber Ridge Middle School Reviews

im also a student here and i must say that the teachers are very high quilty and helpful :)

I am actully a student here at Timber Ridge and soon to graduate. I must say, there are alot of pros and cons witht his school. Teachers do yes, pick 'favorites' and some will not let children turn in late work. I have one of those teachers. There are definetly alot of fights and drug busts at this school! We already had 3 fights in the first semiester! aAnd now currently have a regular dog patrol. The teaching methods though are quite easy to understand. I personally understand everything my teacher teaches me. After school activities are provivded and are quite exilerating! Dances are definetly fun. A child has much to look forward to. Band and Choir go to 6 Flags, 6th Graders got to Medveil Times, 7th Graders go to Navy Pier and Outdoor Ed, 8th Graders have a Lock-in, Splash Station, and Graduation. This school is good and bad.

There is somewhat a lot of fighting and there are teachers that have 'favorites'. But they teachers are nice and the school is neat.

man the scool is ok.nice people very friendly and are very neat and clean

I am a parent of a current 8th grade student at Timber Ridge. We came from the Plainfield Elementary Schools into TR. While entering 6th grade was a bit of a change, once you acclimated yourself to the group teaching method, things smoothed out. My son has excelled at this school because of the teachers and teaching methods. He is an Honor student in advanced classes and will go on to Plainfield Central High School to continue his education. I have found the administration, Principal, Assistant Principal and Dean all to be helpful and encouraging when I needed to address and concerns or questions. As a parent, we need to be more involved with our students and their schools. Only then can we have a clear understanding of the system. Good Luck To Ms. Adams as this is her last year.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed that we moved to this school district, especially into this middle school in particular. I am quite angry about the teacher quality and lack of academic care. This school has completely failed my family, we must move out of our new home, just to get out of this school district.

As a former Timber Ridge Middle School student, i belive this school is great! The teachers are very nice and would do anything to help us kids! The school offers something called a learning lab where if teachers belive a student is having trouble, they request that the child be brought to the learning lab in which the learning lab staff will help the student excel. The principal, Mrs. Adams, is a great listener and loves being with the kids. Overall the school was a great school! Ryan

This is a wonderful school that has great expectations for their students!

This school is very good. its teaching staff is amazing. they work with the child on everything. their not just someone who teaches you, they are also people who your child would love to look up to. The school kind of does this thing called no child left behind. they make sure every child accomplishes every goal that they set for themselves. I mean if it was only i want ot get at least a B on my next math test, you best believe that student will get that B. Also at the school they let the children take band or chour instead of a regular study hall. they band is amazing, they have won alot of competions in the past and i am sure that they will win more. their chour has won alot of competions also. with art they have that as an encore, the school is great.

I disagree with the last 2 statements and as a former student of principal Adams I can formally say that she is a fine principal and is there to hear what any student or parent like wise has to say about any stiuation and take it for what it really is whether good or bad, and Mrs. Adams will treat it as such. Yes, I agree that this school is behind however you shouldn't be looking at the middle schools you should be looking at the grade schools because you have to go through there to get here.

I agree w/May 2004 review about Principal Adams This dist is 3 yrs behind our other dist (same state too) in Math classes and she ignores you when you point out that your child had these clases 3 yrs ago! Teachers on avg have only been teaching 3 or less yrs This can be good and bad. Country 'hick' school great for rednecks! Your child can learn to cook and sew (requirements for all children) but no foreign language - Oh boy cooking and sewing that'll help my child get into a good college!

I have found just the opposite of what the last parent said. The principal, will listen to what you say & appear concerned. However, once you leave the issue is swept under the rug & disreguarded. I have found the school to pick favorites. Your child will do well in this school as long as you do not question them. If you find something that does not appear right with any of the teachers do not expect them to find you to be correct. They will find a way to twist it around & find your child at fault.

My son started in Timber Ridge 7th grade the last 3 months of last year. When he enrolled he was doing F grade work. By the time the end of the school year came he was up to C & B work. The teachers were very concerned and gave him all the help he needed to better his grades. They also encouraged him & boosted his confidence which made him want to learn. I am very happy we moved into the district. They are very helpful.
